Candidates who take the Joint Entrance Examination Main 2014 (JEE Main 2014) through the online mode will receive their question papers marked with answers through mail after the examination gets over, as per the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Such candidates can access sheets for calculations and rough work as well.
Previously, candidates who appeared for the offline paper based JEE Main examination only were allowed to retain their question papers. The online examinations being computer based did not offer the same privilege to the students.
CBSE has also provided candidates aspiring to write the JEE Main 2014 on the online mode the opportunity to practice by making online mock tests available to them. The candidates can avail these tests free of cost at the website of CBSE - www.cbse.gov.in. The measure is part of CBSE’s initiative of promoting the online version of the test to students. CBSE has taken this initiative to ensure that the candidates, especially women, are not inconvenienced in terms of travelling long distances, accommodation as well as safety.
JEE Main is an entrance examination for admissions to the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) as well as other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs). Moreover, it is an eligibility test for the JEE Advanced, which is the common entrance examination for admission into the undergraduate (UG) programs of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian School of Mines-Dhanbad (ISM-Dhanbad).
CBSE has issued a 28-point document consisting of frequently asked questions (FAQs) to clear all doubts of the candidates. Candidates can visit http://jeemain.nic.in/jeemainapp/pdf/FAQ_jee_main_2014.pdf for the detailed document.
