JEE Main 2014 online applications close on Dec 26

The online registrations process for the Joint Entrance Examination Main 2014 (JEE Main 2014) is expected to be concluded on Thursday, December 26, 2013. With very few days left for applications, candidates who have not applied yet need to do the same on a priority basis. The registrations started on Friday, November 15, 2013.

The offline test of JEE Main 2014 is expected to be held by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Sunday, April 6, 2014. The online examination is expected to be held on Wednesday, April 9, Friday, April 11, Saturday, April 12 and Saturday, April 19, 2014. More than 14 lakh candidates wrote the examination last year.

Candidates need to remember few things while submitting their applications online for JEE Main 2014.
The information bulletin needs to be downloaded and read carefully with focus on the eligibility part.
The online application forms need to be filled up after candidates read the instructions carefully. The scanned images of candidates’ signature, photograph and the thumb impression of the left hand are needed in JPG format.

After the online application form is carefully filled up, students need to upload scanned images of signature, photograph and the thumb impression of the left hand.
The examination fees need to be paid by credit or debit card or e-challan which is generated after the online application is submitted. Students need to download the acknowledgement slip and keep it safely for future use.

The application fee has been increased this year from Rs. 800 to Rs. 1000 for male candidates under general/Other Backward Classes (OBC) category who will write one paper only.
As per education experts, the online process of applications might be difficult for some students who are not well-versed with computers. Help centers set up by CBSE may be able to address such issues. CBSE has issued a 28-point document consisting of frequently asked questions (FAQs) to clear all doubts of the candidates.

Candidates can visit http://jeemain.nic.in/jeemainapp/pdf/FAQ_jee_main_2014.pdf for the detailed document.
