Pattamundai : A day after announcement of the results of the Urban Local Bodies (ULB) polls, Odisha government on Saturday issued a notification for holding elections for students unions in different colleges, official sources said.
According to the notification, the students union elections across the state will be held on October 8. The candidates will file nomination papers on September 30. While the date for withdrawal is October 1, the final list of candidates would be announced on October 5.
Why I stand for meeting will be held on October 7, where the candidates will present their views over the their candidature and election.
Meanwhile, the Ravenshaw University has temporarily put on hold the students union election following students unrest in the university. Earlier, the authorities of the Utkal University have already announced not to hold students poll during this academic year.
